Dudhshree Milk Producer Company Limited (DMPCL), Hooghly, was incorporated on 12th March 2023, and is wholly owned by women dairy farmers. The company aims to create sustainable livelihoods and promote income generation through dairying for over 33,000 women milk producers across six districts — Hooghly, Paschim Medinipur, Purba Medinipur, Nadia, North 24 Parganas, and Purba Bardhaman — covering more than 700 Milk Pooling Points (MPPs) and more than 15 Bulk Milk Coolers (BMCs) and 2 Milk Chilling Centre (MCCs).
The project was initiated with financial assistance from the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) and the West Bengal State Rural Livelihood Mission (WBSRLM), and is technically supported by NDDB Dairy Services. Since starting its business operations in February 2024, Dudhshree has focused on optimizing milk production, ensuring cost efficiency, and maintaining competitive pricing. The company also provides essential producer-centric services such as feed management, animal health care, management, along with awareness programs on clean milk production and women empowerment to ensure long-term sustainability.
